A Purchasing Supervisor will supervise the purchase of goods and materials required by the hotel in adherence to policy and with cost reduction and profitability in mind.
What will I be doing? Assist the Finance Operations Manager with the purchasing of all goods and equipment required by the hotel.Communicate clearly and constructively with other team members to help deliver great guest experiences at our hotel.Always deliver 'fair share' in team tasks and support colleagues whose workload may temporarily be heavy.Be willing to lend a hand where it is needed most and spend at least 30 minutes per day helping in operations such as housekeeping, stewarding, and F&B service, providing brand-specific guest experiences.Provide constructive suggestions/feedback to your Line Manager on products, processes and procedures to contribute to our continuous improvement efforts.Be aware of planned team meetings and learning sessions and attend as required.Participate positively in pre and post shift briefs and hotel team huddles and apply learning the next day.Volunteer to participate in company campaigns like Travel with Purpose or Team Member committees.Execute duties as assigned by the Finance Operations Manager and General Manager.Guided by the Finance Operations Manager, handle the purchasing of all goods required for successful hotel operations in full compliance with our supply management policies and business ethics standards.Make purchasing decisions that are business minded and ensure best value for money without compromising on quality.When planning to outsource departments or services, ensure Hilton guidelines are followed and the outsourcing partner is selected only after completing all steps of the standard outsourcing process.Pro-actively search for optimally priced or cost saving purchasing deals and discuss those with the Finance Operations Manager and/or General Manager.Maintain records of purchases and transactions and prepare relevant reports for members of the hotel leadership team.Be and remain an expert user of our purchasing system and teach others in the hotel to become better and more knowledgeable system users.Help ensure that all non-F&B item deliveries are to hotel specifications in accordance with purchase orders.Be responsible for the proper receiving and storing of goods.Always keep the receiving area and storerooms at the hotel tidy and clean.What are we looking for? Previous experience in a high volume Accounts function.Computer literate, with good Microsoft Excel skills.Good time management and organisation skills.Passion for providing an exceptional customer service experience.It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
Previous experience with the Birchstreet and the PeopleSoft system.Relevant degree, in Finance/Accounting or related business discipline, from an academic institution.What will it be like to work for Hilton?
