Our well-established client is currently seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their team.
Requirements: 10 years' experience in a commercial (sales/procurement) role as middle or senior management in the automotive manufacturing industryPrevious experience with SYSPRO (ERP Systems) Qualifications: Grade 12Diploma or Degree in Procurement/Supply Chain (advantageous) Technical Skills and Specialist Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with advanced Microsoft Excel skillsStrong negotiating skillsStrong customer/supplier interface skillsManagement and financial management knowledgeTechnical knowledge of automotive components Responsibilities: Supplier Selection (Sourcing):
Source suppliers in accordance with policies and proceduresIdentify consolidation opportunities to build economies of scale in the supply baseSupplier Monitoring (Performance):
Manage, prepare and send supplier performance scorecards monthlyEngage and implement development plans with poor-performing suppliersContract Management:
Maintain contract registers for material supplyPrepare and coordinate supply contracts with GM where contracts are not in place or are invalid/outdatedCost Management:
Prepare updates of agreed pricing on time to minimize PPV (Purchase Price Variance)Analyze and assess pricing PPV and report monthly to GMConduct benchmarking activities in accordance with agreed plans with GMAnalyze, negotiate and submit supplier APRs (Annual Price Reviews) to Sales and Marketing in accordance with customer-specific timeframesRisk Management:
