Together with our client, a manufacturing company in Centurion, we are recruiting a Purchasing Plant Manager to develop and to optimise the purchasing function by improving the service level and to ensure the products and or services are delivered at the best costs and on time for all the operations.
The Ideal Candidate needs to have a minimum of 4+ years of experience in sourcing and purchasing gained in Mining or Manufacturing industry and must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
Duties and Responsibilities Scope of job: Researching, selecting and purchasing quality products and materials.
Building relationships with suppliers and negotiating for the best price, quantities and delivery timescales.
Comply with all the clients internal controls and make reviews periodically.
Deployment of global / regional category strategies Be the single point of contact to the plant managers of the designated sites Key Tasks and Responsibilities Ensures compliance with purchasing process, policies and other statutory requirements.
Review and analyse purchase requisitions to ensure appropriate sourcing of non-stock and stock items.
Compile and issue RFx.
Manages end-to-end sourcing events.
Evaluate supplier quotes, negotiate pricing, and payment terms and make recommendations to end users.
Place orders for goods and services, track delivery dates, and update system information.
Evaluate supplier performance and make recommendations for improvement.
Manage and maintain vendor master data (Onboard the supplier base, manages and updates data in systems).
Ensure suppliers are issued with approved Company Quality Specifications.
Ensure all non-stock and stock items comply with the company quality specifications and approve for final acceptance in collaboration with site managers.
Monitoring suppliers' performance, KPI's.
Reporting and analysis - collect and report on site/s financial performance including tracking of target savings and inclusive procurement.
Accountable for achieving agreed KPIs and their reporting.
Respects all site safety rules including those applicable for the safe engagement of suppliers and visitors.
Is actively involved in safety issues on site and undertakes regular safety observations.

Skills and Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Commercial 4+ years of experience in sourcing and purchasing gained in Mining or Manufacturing A minimum of 2 years in strategic sourcing experience Previous Inclusive Procurement experience is required including the experience of working with Host Community Businesses.
Previous SAP Experience would be an added advantage Previous experience in B-BBEE Reporting in Terms of the Codes of Good Practice and Mining Charter Reporting would be an added advantage.
