Main Purpose of the Role: To proactively m anage the regulatory and public policy affairs affecting the Company and its members. Key Duties & Responsibilities: Regulatory Advisory : Monitor, review and draft comments on draft Bills, Regulations. Keep the Company and its members informed about the latest legislative developments impacting the industry. Analyze and identify industry legislative risks and provide proactive advice. Assess and advise on the impact of regulatory developments in the industry. Providing input or comments regarding the drafting of proposed regulatory requirements. Offer advice on issues related to communication, marketing campaigns, promotional items, and other projects. Utilize industry positions to develop targeted political strategies and action plans. Stakeholder Management : Support the Companys regulatory and political communications. Establish and nurture relationships with regulators and political figures, to promote industry regulatory interests. Oversee consultant public affairs agencies to ensure cohesive and effective public policy strategies that align with the associations strategy and member requirements. Support the Company, as may be required, at public consultations; the State Law Advisor; NEDLAC; Portfolio Committee; National Assembly; and National Council of Provinces. Consult and align with members to devise and implement strategies to protect and advance the companys regulatory interests. Foster good relationships with other industry associations, lobby groups or bodies to strengthen the effectiveness of regulatory advocacy work. Financial Management : Manage the allocated budget for the function. Authorise purchase orders and invoices related to expenditure of the function. Qualification, Skills and Experience required : LLB | BCom Law or Political Science Degree or Degree in Economics or Degree in Business Administration with a Certificate in Legislative Drafting 7 Years proven public policy and regulation management advisory experience gained within the liquor or alcohol industry A deep and proven understanding of the alcohol regulatory and licensing landscape within SA Proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with governmental and regulatory bodies as well as key stakeholders Excellent command of English together with solid report writing and consolidation skills of key legislation impacting the industry To apply for this role, please forward a detailed copy of your CV to
