in Civil EngineeringMinimum 6 years experience working on national roads projectsLabour Intensive Construction NQF 5 qualificationProficient in preparing programmes including monitoring, updating and tracking progressFully au fait with the COLTO and COTO Standard SpecificationsWell versed with the various forms of general conditions of contract, experience with the GCC 2015 and FIDIC Contracts will be advantageousAdvanced Professional writing skillsMust be organised, practical, hardworking and diligentMust have excellent communication and interpersonal skillsGood administrative capabilities and report writing skillsThe work will involve the following:Carry out Conditional Survey or Assessment of the roads, prepare a report for such including the scoping report, prioritisation report and costing thereof including the implementation Programme, etc, thenMake Designs where necessary to respond to the conditional assessment after receiving a written instruction from a duly Delegated officialsAssist with the procurement of contractors to perform construction work arising in line with the Departments guidelines and instructionsAdministration, supervision (where instructed), monitoring (where instructed) and managing works being undertaken by ContractorsPrepare reports for the Programme Manager and Department detailing project physical status, time related milestone and financial statusThe Professional Engineering Service Providers will also work on an ad-hoc basis through an instruction to perform work (IPW) to be issued by the Head of Department or Senior General Manager Infrastructure and Regional Services or their DelegatesThe Professional Engineering Service Providers will report to the Programme Manager and the responsible Department officialsProvide support and assistance to the relevant office, on instructions from the Responsibility Manager or his/her designeeAssist with road assessments and providing relevant information for classification and declaration purposesPreparation of technical analysis, feasibility studies, designs, contract documentation, tender adjudication, contract supervision and preparation of completion plans and reports on a project-by-project basisAssist with obtaining necessary environmental and Health and Safety approvalsAssist with the implementation of legislative requirementsAssist the Department in the performance of Health and Safety dutiesAssist department with project planning and managementPrepare reports for the Programme Manager and Department detailing project physical status, time related milestone and financial statusAll work to be done according to the standard Project Implementation and Management Plan (PIMP)
