Job Summary Formulate a region-specific (GN & LIMPOPO) strategy execution plan to deliver on business priorities and sustainable business performance for all products, across all channels. Drive performance by taking end-to-end accountability for a provincial area, including infrastructure (Branch & ATM), ATM portfolio (planning , operations and security), people, sales, service, channel and regional operations performance, resource optimisation and managing the cost base for a seamless colleague and customer experience.
Job Description Educational/Experience Requirements: NQF 7 or equivalent Bachelors degree/Advanced diploma (NQF 8 advantageous) in fields of study : Business Administration, Business Management, Operations Management, Strategic Management, Marketing or Sales Management, Financial Management Extensive experience (10+ years) in the banking or financial services industry, with a strong understanding of retail banking operations. Proven track record in strategic planning and execution within a banking environment. At least 5-7 years in a senior leadership or executive role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector, with a proven track record in leading and implementing large-scale changes.
Leadership and Management: Significant experience in a senior management role, demonstrating strong leadership and people management skills. This role will fulfill as Executive: Provincial for the Limpopo and Gauteng North provincial areas Preference will be given to a candidate resides in Limpopo or Gauteng North Must be able and willing to travel across these two provincial areas Key areas of accountability: Strategy Formulation and Execution: Establish and drive the implementation of a sales strategy to enhance and optimise leads, develop the sales execution strategy and business plan for Integrated Channels sales & distribution channels, establish value based strategy for all leads and sales opportunities within Integrated Channels and Maintain and embed a firm Regional Interlock across relevant business units to unlock business opportunities across segments for Retail Customer growth. Stakeholder Management / Engagement: Actively promote and manage the collaborative engagement of internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, clients, service providers, business partners and other Absa entities (where applicable). Integrated Channels footprint management: Regional oversight of the management and optimisation of the devices (ATM, GBRU, etc.) linked to the region, including performance and placement metrics Regional oversight and optimisation of the # of branches, devices, types of branches, placement and performance metrics. Explore emerging capabilities and opportunities for footprint optimisation, including opportunities for effective placement and utilisation of the Alternative channel devices available (and builds required). Support & drive of IB related products to expand branch service offering and footfall. Drive Digital Agenda: Mature self-service device strategy to support the migration of cash and services, and enable self-service onboarding for non-complex products. Drive migration of cash and service through the enablement of ATM and device capabilities such as coin dispenser, debit card replacement and Western Union inbound, supported by customer education. Ensure frontline colleague Digital Upskilling via completion of the Digitally Savvy curriculum: 95% of colleagues to be digitally savvy Device Management: End-to-end management of alternative channels (ATM's GRG, Mobile units, Self service devices, etc.) Operations Management: Ensure adherence to processes and governance frameworks. Actively participate in transforming our operational processes to unlock trapped efficiencies through automation and digitisation, Re-imagining Integrated Channels points of presence beyond brick and mortar, repositioning ourselves for a changing cash economy, re-imagining the colleague of the future and embedding ESG into our core business to ensure that we remain a force for good, and uphold reputable governance standards. Responsible for the regional operational efficiency, adherence to policy, procedures and business controls, to ensure a satisfactory risk and control environment in the branch and allocations of targets / objectives across roles within the region to ensure performance objectives are aligned for achievement. Cash Management eco system, Operational Availability of devices, Quality ORMS System input and outcomes. Quality RCR's and other relevant conformance testing. Support Change Initiatives, Process, Technology and/or Device. Responsible for all regulatory aspects in the business inclusive of FICA, FAIS, etc. Financial management: Closely manage all regional cost levers within set approved budgets. People management/Lead Talent: Drive an inclusive and people centric agenda that enables a outperformance culture. Maintain and drive strong sales and customer service capabilities within the team and across the network to deliver on continuously changing customer requirements, digital and spatial evolution. Drive colleague experience and stability and create excitement. Customer Management: Drive the delivery of Premium Customer Service by delivering against the Premium Service Standards which are aligned to the TCF principles. Manage the regional customer services position through: Branch Service Operational Scores and Complaints management. Governance, Risk and Compliance Management: Drive governance, risk mitigation and compliance in all Business Architecture initiatives. Ensure the fulfilment of all required governance activities, including tracking and reporting. Implement new policies and frameworks as needed (received from IC Governance and Control and group functions)
Additional skills: Deep understanding of the strategic direction of the Group and its competitors in Absa Ability to leverage the full capabilities of the Group through cross functional collaboration across Absa. Understanding of diverse cultural nuances across various geographies in SA. Displays capability in managing multiple projects with Cluster-wide impact. Demonstrates sound business judgement and understanding of industry dynamics. Sophisticated political skills, and ability to operate highly effectively in large, complex environments. Operational Expertise: In-depth knowledge of branch and ATM infrastructure management, including planning, operations, and security.
