What are we looking for? Leading business incubator, Raizcorp, is seeking an experienced and highly competent proposals, tender and technical writer to take up a permanent position at our head office. This role is responsible for writing and editing compelling, winning proposals and tender submissions, as well as creating internal manuals and training material.
What does this role do? The key responsibilities of this role include:
Writing clear, effective and well-researched proposals to potential clients on behalf of Raizcorp's sales team, as well as developing well-structured tender submissions.Creating proposals and tender submissions for complex projects that require extensive research and the creation of appropriate solutions, including pricing (you must become an expert on the Raizcorp business model, how it functions and how we construct our products and client solutions, both "off the shelf" and bespoke).Meticulously proof-reading all proposals and tenders.Ensuring that documents are professionally and attractively laid out according to Raizcorp's corporate identity guidelines and house style.Working closely with the sales manager and CEO to create, update and maintain proposal and tender templates.Regularly reviewing tender notifications, identifying those with potential, notifying the sales manager and CEO of such opportunities and supporting them to determine whether or not to participate.Attending tender briefing and clarification sessions to capture client requirements.Meticulously filing and maintaining all compliance and administrative documentation that may be required for tender submissions and ensuring that these are always current and up to date.Ensuring all tender submissions are accurate and on time.Supporting salespeople when following up on tender submissions to gain feedback and improve on future tender responses.Gaining and maintaining a deep understanding of South Africa's bidding regulations and practices in the private and public sectors.Being highly knowledgeable about South Africa's B-BBEE legislation and the various charters and keeping abreast of all changes.Maintaining a high degree of confidentiality as the role entails access to sensitive information, including company financials (any breaches may lead to instant dismissal).Creating compelling and visually appealing internal process manuals and training.Updating and maintaining internal manuals and training materials.What experience is preferred? A minimum of five years' experience working on proposals, tenders and technical documents such as training manuals. In terms of manuals and training material, a portfolio of previous work will be highly advantageous.
Minimum requirements Degree-level qualification, preferably in business or communication.Above-average skills in MS Word, including document layout and formatting.Proven experience in business writing, copy editing and proof-reading.Sound knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.Desired skills Extremely high levels of attention to detail.Highly organised and process oriented with strong logical thinking abilities.Ability to multitask and reprioritise projects.Ability to handle high levels of pressure and very strict deadlines.A strong aesthetic sensibility when it comes to document layout and visuals.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to consult and work with sales department colleagues and other internal stakeholders.Willingness to work overtime when deadlines require this.Valid driver's licence and own vehicle.
