Main job function The primary responsibility of this position is to design, propose, present, and quote on turnkey EC&I solutions in both the corporate and industrial markets. A proposal engineer is an enthusiastic and motivated professional responsible for the preparation of cost-effective engineered solutions, timelines, and documentation for project bids. As a proposal engineer, you must have extensive knowledge of the electrical industry and possess people skills to interact professionally with clients, suppliers, project managers, and design engineers. The proposal engineer needs to ensure the proposed solution(s) accurately reflect what is offered and clearly state what will be required for the successful completion of projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Managing and interpreting client needs and requirements
• Engaging with clients to understand, anticipate, and offer cost-effective solutions
• Conducting site visits and inspections to survey project needs and requirements
• Liaising with other departments to ensure that client needs and requirements can be met
• Preparing cost-effective solutions, time estimates, and supporting documentation for project bids
• Preparing proposals including tenders, quotations, and technical documents in line with company procedures
• Preparing and issuing confirmation orders and handing over to the Projects Department
• Contacting suppliers and requesting pricing to update and maintain costing databases
• Managing relationships with clients
Qualifications • B.Eng Electrical / Electronics
• B.Tech Electrical / Electronics
• Sales (advantageous)
• Sound Electrical & Automation Engineering experience (3-5 years)

Remuneration: R32 000 per month
