The roleAs a Risk Consultant you will work closely with clients and Account Consultants to help them understand and improve their risk. You will visit client premises of various sizes and across multiple occupancies establishing location risk quality ratings; loss estimates and developing risk improvement recommendations according to existing standards.

Primary Responsibilities Conduct on-site visits (through all of Africa) of existing and prospective customers and complete comprehensive reports that evaluate hazards and controls for adequate risk selection and pricing.Utilise internal and external information, tools, and resources to evaluate account risk quality and communicate this evaluation to underwriting team members clearly and concisely.Manage the scope and scale of loss prevention services delivered to a portfolio of clients, based on client expectations, underwriting requirements and service cost constraints.Work directly with clients to improve their property risk profile.Maintain strong industry relationships and strengthen this by delivering risk consulting services to prospective clients and brokers.The role will be based at our Cape Town office, however, there will be significant amount of travel through Africa for this role. We're looking for someone that is able to adapt to change and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, this person will have some or all of these skills:
Degree in Engineering (or equivalent) is strongly preferred.Previous experience in property loss prevention or industry.Excellent knowledge of NFPA and ASIB codes and FM data sheets.Broad understanding of key underwriting decision points.A willingness to travel.Successful candidates are also likely to show the following personal attributes:
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Strong customer relationship and negotiation skills.Knowledge of functionality of IT systems.Skilled in time management and work techniques.Candidates must have permission to work in South Africa by the start of their employment.
