Well established automotive plant based in Durban is seeking a qualified and experienced applicant to join their dynamic team.Job Purpose:To lead, organize, monitor and control Properties related projects.To manage on behalf of the landlord all the company owned properties.To lead and explore green technologies related to utilities and utilities management.Reporting to:Chief Operations Officer (COO)Requirements for ApplicantsMinimum Qualifications:Matric or a school leaving certificateBachelor of Science in Mechanical/ Electrical EngineeringAdditional Qualifications:Building inspector/Property Management certificateExperience:At least five years' experience within a similar roleKey Performance Areas Associated Task Properties:Manage the facilities function for the divisionPlan and control expenditure within annual budget (Repairs and Maintenance, Capital Expenditure)Ensure that facilities meet all required internal and customer standardsEnsure compliance to internal procurement and financial standardsManage and control the security function for the division.Energy Efficiency:Develop and implement the Energy Efficiency Programme for the divisionPlan, implement and monitor energy saving projectsRemain abreast of current developments in the Energy Efficiency Industry and use of Green Technologies.Engineering:Facilities and service engineering for the divisionPerform an engineering review service to production/maintenanceAssist business units with Maintenance Engineering MethodologyEnsure legal requirements and appointments are fulfilled within organisationPeople Management:Ensure an enabling climate/cultureManage individual, team and departmental performance to achieve organisational objectivesManage contract suppliers in line with budgetObtain approval for and recruit and select employees in the area of responsibilityPlan, organise and monitor work in own area of responsibilityCompile and update Performance Contracts and Individual Development Plans and facilitate individual career path planningDetermine the training needs of the DepartmentConduct Performance Reviews and manage sub-standard performanceCoach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levelsEnsure discipline is maintained in department (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)Resolve grievances and disputesShould you wish to apply please email your CV through to Erin Bentz at (Email Disabled).Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
