About the job Property AccountantOverview:We are seeking a highly motivated Accountant with specific operational commercial experience. The candidate will be responsible for a portfolio of buildings, encompassing property financial analysis, performance management, budgets, forecasts, and operations (leasing & facilities).Responsibilities:Collate information to analyse income and expenses of the properties and provide comments against budgets.Ensure accruals are raised where some income and expense items are outstanding or not recorded accordingly.Identify any misallocations in the ledger and ensure corrections are processed in a timely manner.Review recoveries (municipals and other expenses). Take corrective measures where there are significant over or under recoveries.Track all municipal queries and highlight the impact on the income statement and balance sheet once resolved.Ensure all rentals being billed are in accordance with leases and expenses paid are in accordance with signed SLAs.Analyse property performance for decision-making on improving Property Net Operating Income.Develop, implement, and manage property budgets and forecasts in collaboration with the Leasing and Facilities teams.Work with Leasing and Facilities teams in managing the property budgets.Provide valuable input in the preparation of management accounts, quarterly reports, and annual financial statements.Assist with Debtors & Creditors Management.Assist the facilities team in managing the property asset registers and managing consumables stock.Prepare underlying working papers for external audit purposes.Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies.Undertake any other tasks as assigned by management.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting.Minimum of 3 years of commercial property experience.Intermediate Excel skills.Experience with SAGE.Experience with MDA.
