About the job: Property AccountantAccountant with experience in the property and construction industry to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in property accounting, development costing, real estate projects, and bookkeeping for rental properties. This role will play a crucial part in managing financial aspects related to our projects and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.Responsibilities:Manage property accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.Oversee development costing for construction projects, tracking expenses, and analyzing cost variances.Prepare financial proposals and draft project budgets, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Conduct financial costings for materials, labour, taxes, and other project-related expenses, adhering to state regulations.Maintain accurate records of income and expenses for rental properties using QuickBooks or similar accounting software.Perform reconciliations of bank accounts, vendor invoices, and tenant accounts.Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and contractual agreements.Qualifications:Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.3+ years of experience in property accounting and construction project accounting.Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.Strong understanding of real estate development, construction costing, and property management.Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.CPA certification or relevant professional qualification is a plus.
