QUALIFICATIONS: BSc / BEng / BTech Engineering or similar degree
EXPERIENCE: Several years progressively responsible experience in a management/leadership position Minimum 10 years in an Engineering or Technical environment & ITC experience Proven track record in delivering complex project success Previous track record in successfully generating new business Experience with project management software tools Experience with managing contracts using FIDIC would be a benefit OVERVIEW: The primary function is to ensure that new projects are effectively executed (quality, cost, timing, sustainability). To communicate to and coordinate all stakeholders while promoting and aligning internal efforts to being efficient and clear.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS: Lead project meetings to collect and disseminate information pertaining to projects Technical specification review, resolution, and sign off Coordinate the collection and dissemination of technical information between/within the company, supplier, and client Schedule and monitor program activity to achieve an "on-time" result including follow-up with external suppliers to ensure timely response to action items Monitor program cost activity to achieve an "in budget" result Collect quotations utilizing supplier information, cost standards, technical information & engineering design Ensure that project charges are correctly represented for accounting's closing process Evaluate project performance of functional areas Select and recommend procedures or development of methods Responsible for the development and preparation of technical specifications Coordinate designs, drawings, plans, and specifications for projects, engineered systems, technical equipment or components Prepare design computations and quantity estimates Assist in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, permits and designs for projects Review and monitor project progress to assure quality and adherence to requirements of contract documents Responsible for control of work-in-progress, ensures accurate supplier billings, monitors outstanding accounts payable Receive instructions on assignments objectives, complex features, and possible solutions Receive/solicit guidance on unusual and/or complex problems and supervisory approval on work plans and safety compliance Ensure safety compliance during project execution Engineering Project Budget creation and sign off Client liaison during project phases C1-C5 Coordinator of Technical Site Visits Owner of the Functional Design Specification creation & sign off Project procurement Project expenditure tracking Project Gantt Charts Assist finance with cash flow forecasts Facilitation & approval of Technical Design Specifications Manage project execution on/off site Coordinate system commissioning Ensure legal compliance of new installations Custodian of project documentation Handover completed project to Operations
