About us:
The Office of the Vice-Provost, Innovations in Undergraduate Education (OVPIUE) works closely with the Office of the Vice-Provost Students (OVPS) to support initiatives that enhance the educational and co-curricular experience of students in the University's seven direct-entry undergraduate academic divisions and beyond. OVPIUE directly administers, advises, or partners on a number of critical programs and services including, but not limited to:

Systems and initiatives relating to experiential learning and undergraduate research such as the Forum on Experiential Learning (FEL) and the Experiential Learning Hub website;Teaching awards and grants;Enterprise-level educational technology systems, platforms, and projects (Learning Management System, learning analytics, student academic success analytics and reporting, course information system);Engagement with external organizations on teaching and learning-related matters (interinstitutional transfer agreements, government grants and performance-based funding reporting requirements, online learning platforms).Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Director, Innovations in Undergraduate Education and supervised by the Systems and Product Lead, Experiential Learning, you will be part of a dynamic, collaborative and innovative team creating, implementing, and supporting software that enhances the student experience and supports career services, the Co-Curricular Record and experiential learning applications. You will work in cross functional teams with UX designers, developers, analysts and stakeholders on new and existing products using established methodologies including Agile development processes.
The University of Toronto has implemented an enterprise system, Symplicity. This position will help support the implementation of Symplicity's Career Services Manager (CSM), to support shared-service units and academic divisions in transforming the student experience related to experiential learning and career service supports. Included in the implementation of Symplicity's Career Services Manager (CSM) platform will be the creation of integrations with other Symplicity and institutional platforms, supporting both shared-service units and academic divisions in their efforts to elevate experiential learning, career services, and the Co-Curricular Record for our students.
Your responsibilities will include: Evaluating new technologies or new and modified businesses processes to determine enhancement requirementsAssessing needs and contributing to the development of business systemsAnalyzing and documenting business requirementsDeveloping technical application implementation plansProviding detailed instruction to users on system or software featuresTroubleshooting issues uncovered by testing or user feedbackEssential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.Minimum five (5) years relevant experience.Experience working with or supporting enterprise level student information or curriculum support systems.Experience working on the planning, testing, implementation and support of post-secondary enterprise applications.Experience in business or systems analysis practices including requirements gathering and analysis, gap analysis, process analysis, and creating implementation plans.Significant experience with other career service management and student engagement platforms (i.e., Orbis Outcome, Symplicity CSM, etc.)Experience in producing system and user documentation.Experience working in cross functional development and implementation teams including developers, user experience designers, business analysts and business owners/stakeholders.Experience working with Agile development practices.Ability to translate business requirements that drive process changes and workflow changes within these environmentsAbility to instruct, direct, assist, guide and share information with both technical and non-technical personnel.Strong communication skills; able to present requirements, concepts and procedures to a diverse audience.Ability to work concurrently on multiple projects, adjust to occasional changes in priorities and respond quickly and effectively to emerging situations.Strong written and presentation communication skills and ability to communicate in a variety of styles and voices for a range of audiences.Demonstrated effective project management skills.Demonstrated superior client service skills.Strong organizational and time management skills.Strong analytical skills; able to interpret business requirements and articulate them into models and concepts.To be successful in this role you will be: DiplomaticMulti-taskerOrganizedClosing Date: 11/18/2024, 11:59PM ET
