Overview:Our client in the automotive industry is looking to employ a Project Specialist to manage projects and the implementation continuous improvement initiatives to plant, equipment and processes to optimise utilisation of organisational resources.Minimum Requirements: Grade 12 / MatricBachelor's Bachelor's Degree / National Diploma: Business and Project Management or EngineeringMust have a recognized qualification from a registered institution (such as PMI) in the field of Project ManagementMinimum 3 years in a Project Management role in the Automotive Industry Key Performance Areas: Project InitiationIdentify opportunities for improvements with internal and external customers and propose alternative solutionsConduct project feasibility studies to establish the viability of proposed projectsContribute to project initiation, scope definition and scope change controlParticipate in the estimation and preparation of cost budgets for projects or sub projects and monitor and control actual cost against budgetProject Planning Schedule project activities to facilitate effective project executionMonitor, evaluate and communicate project schedulesCollate all project information (Drawings, specifications, data, special instructions, etc.)Design and DrawingPlan and determine drawing requirements to produce engineering drawingsUse CAD computer programmes as a design tool to produce drawings to specificationsProject ManagementSupervise a project team of a developmental, technical or small project to deliver project objectivesIdentify, suggest and implement corrective actions to improve quality of project workRaise requests for samples and update the sample request registerOversee/produce initial product samplesCommission machines and equipment or pilot and test new/existing productsProject AdministrationPlan, organise and support project meetings and workshopsProvide procurement administration support to projectsPolicies and ProceduresInitiate and approve Project Policies, Procedures, Protocols, Work Instructions, Codes of Practice, etc.Continuous ImprovementConduct Research & Development of new/existing technologies/plant/productsImplement Continuous Improvement initiatives:KaizenSix SigmaStandardised WorkVA/VE (Value Added/Value Engineered)ReportingCompile Project Reports and Presentations
