Project Planner Melkbosstrand, Cape Town Fixed Term | Full Time Market Related Salary Position Overview: Our client is seeking an experienced and skilled Project Planner who will be responsible for developing project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. They will play a crucial role in the project management process by creating detailed plans that guide the project team throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities: Planning Service Create and provide integrated project master Primavera schedules.Produce resource loaded and forecasted baseline Primavera schedules.Perform resource levelling. Produce earned value management reports in conjunction with Quantity Surveyor / Cost Engineers. Create a compensation events schedule, update monthly and integrate into owners' schedule;Time delay analyses of Contractor's Programme and related claims for compensation events and/or disputes.Maintain master primavera schedules and database by managing scope changes, reflect all approved compensation events and review construction drawings in relation to confirming the integrity of the master schedule.Perform what-if analysis to ensure project target dates are met and incorporate risk-based time contingencies.Perform scope and schedule reviews, determine planned completion dates and determine potential risks of meeting target dates.Maintain planning related project action lists.Integration and critical analysis of the contractor's schedule and identification of any plugged / unlinked activities.Co-ordinate updating of plans and reporting on progress by setting up master schedule performance targets and reporting templates.Assist the project manager, cost engineering and/or the quantity surveyor in establishing and maintaining cost estimates.Provide planning interface between the contractor planning team and Employer's outage and/or maintenance planning organisations.Perform schedule change requests.Provide input into management information for NPM management meetings and NOU portfolio management committee.Develop, monitor, co-ordinate and control, as well as close out project schedules.Perform progressive planning.Scheduling: Maintain the construction integrated master schedule across all project programmes.Report on project progress for monitoring purposes.Attend outage, online work control, scope freeze, construction, project and departmental meetings to provide feedback and / or obtain information on related assigned activities.Provide Permit to Work progress & status during construction.Monitor dose information and report on its status.Provide work management reports and report on its status.Report on schedule conflicts.Facilitate work management process during preparation, scheduling and planning, asset construction and close out phases for outage and online activities.Maintain information in the computerised maintenance management system.Develop and maintain monitoring reports for assets under construction.Maintain balance of the time objectives of the schedule with resources.Maintaining balance of the time objectives with cost constraints.Coordinating forecasted activities and project completion dates in conjunction with project managers and contractors.Produce commodity productivity curves based on physical percent complete performance (including site walk downs).Re-planning activities to provide alternatives to ensure project deliverables are met.Validating field measurements and updating physical percent complete on systems.Compile planning networks.Minimum Education: NQF 7 B-degree / B-Tech in Built Environment or Engineering,Primavera P6 Certificate (Non Negotiable)Experience: Utility power plant experienceOver 7 years in planning engineering/construction projectsSkills: High integrity, meets all commitments and promisesTeam-player, builds strong and cohesive relationships with diverse stakeholders across all levels of seniorityCustomer-oriented, drives value for internal customers by delivering the best possible outcomesOwnership - takes pride in always delivering work of the highest standard
