Main purpose of the job: The Project Officer Assistant will work in close collaboration with the TBAC Programme Officer to produce evidence-based reports, advocacy materials and policy-briefsCoordinate the provincial civil society responses to the provincial appropriations billMonitoring and evaluation of government programs for example the provincial annual performance plansTheir primary responsibility is the development of the TBAC biannual budget parliamentary budget submissionLocation: RHAP – Rosebank, JohannesburgKey performance areas: Conduct Literature reviewsWriting of reports and policy briefsDrafting Budget, financial reportsKnowledge/research translationDevelopment of assessment tools to evaluate governance of TB programmes on an ongoing basisStaying up to date with current literature, relevant events and policies in the fieldMay be required to conduct data handlingParticipate in partnerships that are in place or are developedPerform any research related activity required to support these partnershipsConduct Workshops to capacitate district staff of Provincial TB BudgetsFacilitate (logistics) and participate in project meetings including Staff meetingsAct in a professional and friendly manner in all dealings with internal stakeholdersShow a high level of customer centricity at all timesProduce research outputs that consider the public health, sociology and economic evidence for the advocacy issues we are seeking to addressCoordinate the provincial civil society responses to the provincial appropriations billKnowledge translation to improve advocacy combined with an understanding of political, TBprogrammatic and health governance structures in South AfricaUse evidence-based approach to shape our advocacy appeals and submissionsUse evidence-based approach to raise awareness with communities and stakeholders (such as policymakers and partner organisations) regarding pertinent advocacy issuesCollate (and regularly update) a compendium of available TB resources and tools for the TBAC websitePreparing content for social mediaRequired minimum work experience: 3-5 years' experience with knowledge translation/research translation and/or Public Financial ManagementRequired minimum education and training: Honors Degree in Public Policy/Administration, Public Economics, Health System Science, Public Health or equivalent Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities: Has an understanding public financial management, public health systems, and policyProficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)Budget AnalysisMonitoring and EvaluationFacilitation skillsGood at conducting literature reviewsExceptional writing skills and attention to detail (financial reports, research, policy briefs, etc.
