Use critical thinking to analyse problems, devise solutions, and apply them effectively.Excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management and staff.Leadership: Provide team leadership to inspire and motivate.Organisational skills: Balance multiple tasks and priorities.Proficient with inventory reporting systems.Strong business acumen.Excellent assertiveness skills.Be able to work under pressure.Duties and responsibilities:The Materials Manager will oversee the planning, procurement, storage, control, and distribution of materials and products for the project.Identifying material requirements, sourcing ideal suppliers, managing inventory and logistics.Directs production and inventory control, shipping and receiving, and materials/equipment storage.Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within required timelines.Maintains and ensures the accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.Identifies opportunities to reduce transportation costs and charges.Procurement of materials required for the project.Analysing financial reports, price proposals and other information used to determine reasonable pricing.Meeting with vendors and staff to discuss unacceptable and defective products and establish corrective action.Manage the storeman for the project.Performs other related duties as assigned.
