Are you a seasoned leader with a strong background in renewable energy? Our client is looking for an experienced PROJECT MANAGING DIRECTORto take charge of a major energy initiative in South Africa. This role is a unique chance to oversee the successful completion of a significant renewable energy project from financial closure through to the handover to the operational management team.
Core Responsibilities: Leadership: Provide strategic guidance to the project team, ensuring all project goals are met effectively.Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain productive relationships with key stakeholders, including investors, local communities, and governmental bodies.Project Execution: Manage the project implementation, ensuring compliance with all necessary regulations, permits, and best practices within the industry.Contract Oversight: Oversee all project-related contracts, including agreements for power purchasing, construction, and financing.Safety & Compliance: Ensure the safety of all involved, including personnel and local communities, throughout the project's execution phase.Operational Transition: Facilitate a smooth handover to the operational management team, ensuring all aspects of the project are set for long-term success.Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in Engineering or related field.Certifications: Professional certifications in project management (PMP) or similar fields.Experience: A minimum of 15 years in engineering and project leadership, particularly within the South African renewable energy sector.Skills & Abilities: High-level expertise in managing relationships with corporate entities and stakeholders.Strong understanding of South Africa's socio-economic landscape, with a commitment to community engagement.Proven leadership and motivational skills to drive a team toward project success.
