Salary range: 50 000 – 80 000 depending on experience
Position Overview: The Project Manager with a mechanical engineering background will oversee and manage all phases of engineering projects from concept through completion. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. Must have experience on process plants.
Key Responsibilities:
• Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, and resource allocation. Monitor progress and adjust plans as needed to ensure timely and successful project completion.
• Engineering Oversight: Apply mechanical engineering principles to guide project design and implementation. Provide technical direction and support to engineering teams and ensure that all engineering aspects meet project requirements and standards.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related communication. Maintain regular updates with stakeholders, including clients, team members, and management, to ensure alignment and address any issues.
• Resource Management: Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to secure necessary resources and materials. Manage project budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure all project deliverables meet quality standards and specifications. Implement and maintain quality control procedures throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Advanced degree or project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of (3) years of experience in project management within a mechanical engineering context. Demonstrated success in managing complex engineering projects. Process plant experience will be a benefit
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and practices. Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project,).
• Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to overcoming obstacles.
• Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
