About the jobJob Summary: Project Manager responsible for (where applicable) the analysis, sizing, costing, detail design and project management of grid tied PV plants with a size of 100 kW to 30 000 kW and the review, scrutinization and optimization of EPC designs with a size of 100 kW to 100 000 kW. Secondary roles will include the provision (to management) of accurate, informed and defendable advice on solar PV plants and solar technology in general. The management, development and guidance of the mid-level and junior PV engineers employed at GreenYellow.
Key Responsibilities: – Design the commercial offers best suited to customer needs
– Assist the Operations Manager in establishing technical & commercial offers and associated strategies to be implemented
– Conduct contract negotiations with customers, EPCs and potential suppliers
– Ensure the completeness and coherence of the administrative and technical files
– Act as the final/senior point of customer contact for all project related subjects
– Be the single point of contact between the Operations Manager and the various internal and external parties (e.g. clients, corporate, shareholders)
– Carry out and/or supervise preliminary analysis of technical and financial specifications for projects in commercial development
– Ensure the compilation and consistency of the technical clarification from the client
– Ensure the compilation and consistency of the technical file prepared by the design office or EPC, to be submitted in accordance with the commercial offer
– Fill the role of Construction Manager/Project Manager
– Be the customer`s contact point for all technical and commercial subjects during the execution phase
– Ensure the monitoring and the coordination, including budgets, throughout the deployment period
– Ensure the compilation and consistency of the technical file submitted by the contractor at the start of the project as well as at COD phase
– Ensure the technical follow up of the service providers engaged for the execution phase
– Participate in the performance test to be performed on installations deployed during the execution phase
– Return on investment (ROI), productivity, cost performance, cycle time, customer satisfaction, risk management, schedule performance, employee satisfaction and alignment with strategic business goals.
– Manage, maintain and develop the implementation of all Solar PV rollout, existing and future RFP's
– Manage and maintain the projects folder, keeping track of project expenditure details and the budget as well as the planned roll out/construction schedule
– Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects
– Ensure that all projects are delivered on – time, within scope and within budget
– Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
– Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
– Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification technique
– Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
– Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
– Perform risk management to minimize project risks
– Manage project HSE according to GreenYellow and SA standards, rules & regulations
– Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
– Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project
– Delegate project tasks based on junior staff members individual strengths, skill sets and experience levels
– Track project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long term goals
– Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments to project constraints based on financial analysis
– Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members
– Perform other related duties as assigned
– Develop spreadsheets, diagrams, process maps and compile procedures for use in future projects
Technical Skills: – Strong knowledge of all applicable PV regulations, laws and regulations
– MV&LV experience
– Genset integration knowledge
– Knowledge of relevant PV products and services
– Highly skilled in analysis, specification and designing of grid tied PV plants
– Understanding of commercial processes
– Master of Reporting
– Able to work under pressure and deliver accurate and reliable work
– Should have extensive knowledge of the following software – PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD and SketchUp
Soft Skills: – Able to coordinate with client and contractors – facing and communication skills
– Master of the English language – Communication & reporting
– Self-driven
Experience and Qualifications: – Mandatory education: Batchelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable University
– At least 3 years of experience in the development, design, construction and commissioning of grid tied PV systems of >100 kW
– 3 years or more experience in project Management
– 5 Years of electrical engineering experience – 2 years of experience in managing engineers
– Energy Efficiency experience would be advantageous
– O&M experience would be advantageous
