As a Project Manager, you will manage a series of simultaneous international commercial projects within the EMEA region, both Factory Assembled and Field Erected Projects.
As the main customer contact, you will be responsible for the full cycle of project management, from contract negotiations and receipt of initial order through to manufacture, delivery, site installation and/or construction, commissioning, contractual take over, and resolving any warranty-based issues.
Using a multi-faceted approach and interfacing with SPX sales, engineering, purchasing, production, and channel partners, you will ensure that all phases of the project, including logistics & documentation, are completed in a detailed, timely, and cost-effective manner, and meet the required quality standards, project-specific user requirements, and SPX code of conduct.
What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities) Project ManagementManaging a set of simultaneous projects from estimation, contract negotiations, order entry through to completed site installation with order values ranging from $100,000 to $20,000,000.Managing the full lifecycle of the project ensuring all order phases are completed on budget, in a timely and cost-effective manner and meet the required quality standards and milestone payments.Managing and mitigating risks associated with projects by reconciling internal order holds and contract management with interaction between all parties involved.Interfacing with manufacturing team to forward plan and meet contractual responsibilities.Coordinating site installations and activities with service partners.Managing timeliness and accuracy of order activities between sales, engineering, production, manufacturing, construction, supply chain, and channel partner resources.Communicating with major sub-suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.Coordinating logistics: import & export of international and domestic shipments and forward planning of customer collection and deliveries to meet financial goals.Coordinating and driving change order management.Building trusted relationships and interfacing with internal colleagues, customers, channel partners, and suppliers.Actively identifying and helping capture business revenue opportunities through value-added services (extended warranty, maintenance contracts, etc.)
and communicating those to appropriate groups to facilitate such opportunities.Maintaining and improving project margin levels.Effectively resolving issues for customers, suppliers, vendors, shipping lines, sales representatives, and SPX employees.Customer SupportActing as the first line of support to customers post-order placement.Managing special projects to improve the customer experience, drive sales, and improve quality.Efficiently managing customer communications, clarifications, shipments, documentation, and other milestone scheduled stages for projects associated with the assigned territory and channel partners.Effectively managing and processing warranty claims and entering feedback into SPX quality management system (QMS).
Supporting quality team to investigate root causes.
Managing customer returns for quality analysis.Collaborating with subject matter experts to resolve customer issues after shipment.Analytics, Research, and ReportingMaintaining accurate status reports and updates to management.Initiating vendor purchase orders in coordination with purchasing as needed and following up on all orders to ensure customer satisfaction.Handling insurance management, Letter of Credit, and bond forms, as needed for managing the project.Supporting Finance in communicating with end customers and reps to ensure collection of cash on a timely basis.Creating project & commercial documentation including: resource loaded GANTT charts, commercial invoices, packing lists, international trade, inspection, quality & test certificates, datasheets, and project-specific requirements.Identifying opportunities to optimize processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs.What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education) Required Experience At least 5-10 years' experience in project and construction management.Technical engineered products.Experience with the structuring and project management of complex EPCm-type projects within the petrochemical environment or related sector.Experience in both FIDIC and NEC3 contract management.Experience in leading FAT and SAT activities, inclusive of fulfilling project takeover requirements.Experience in construction, plant operations, and engineering management is preferential.Experience of logistics and procurement.Extensive customer service experience.Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency with Windows Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Teams, SAP, AutoCAD.Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.Solution-driven & problem-solving orientated.Forward planner with excellent organisation & time management skills.Focused on building strategic working relationships with customers and suppliers.Team worker that will equally contribute to the success of the team.Proactive.Change oriented.Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree (BS) or equivalent with related experience.Project Management certification.Frequent local and international travel to meet with customers, attend industry events, and visit company locations – at least 50% of the time.
