The appointee should have well-established relationships with key individuals in relevant financial areas of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSA bachelor's degree (NQF level 7) in Accounting and/or Management AccountingA minimum of three (3) years' experience in European funding management and reporting (European Commission, GIZ)A minimum of five (5) years' experience in Financial/Management Accounting in a financial environmentA minimum of five (5) years' experience in External Funding Application and Reporting (TIA, NRF)A minimum of five (5) years' experience in internal and external project budgeting and reportingA minimum of five (5) years' experience in government funding application and reportingADDED ADVANTAGE & RECOMMENDATIONA bachelor's degree in Law (NQF level 7)A post graduate diploma in Business Management (NQF level 8)FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIESExperience in ERP systems (Oracle, KFS etc.
)Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelProven knowledge of general financial principlesExcellent computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Demonstration of language proficiency to function optimally in multilingual environmentsAbility to multitask and function effectively under pressureBasic legal knowledge for contracts, SLA's, NDA's etc.Proven knowledge of importation of goods and customs clearanceAttention to detailKnowledge of the Engineering environment, especially the Hydrogen areaProven knowledge of the European Commission Funding PortalGood communication, written and numeracy skillsBEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIESCommitment to excellent client service in a cross-cultural environmentAbility to work accurately and to deadlines with minimal supervisionAbility to work effectively in a teamAbility to enforce policy and proceduresKEY RESPONSIBILITIESProject Financial Management: Review financial information in external funding policies to adhere to various types of financial reporting.
Manage all processes used in financial and administrative matters.
Prepare reports for internal use and external stakeholders, adhering to requirements and NWU policies.Financial Monitoring and Control: Keep abreast of changes in NWU financial policies and guidelines and advise management and staff.
Oversee/fulfill the KFS Fiscal Officer role.
Assist in the budget control process and discuss OU financial results with OU managers.Project Audit Management: Lead all audit matters with external and internal audit.
Ensure compliance with funders' requirements for audit.Project Income Management: Prepare project proposals and budgets, ensuring adherence to NWU financial policies.
Review calculations of funding applications for correctness.Human Resource Management: Complete, review and process all HR-related matters.
