General Description / Job Purpose:Assist the Asset Management Team in managing the Red Rocket portfolio of projects from financial close during construction and operation phases in Africa.Manage the project companies' overall accounting to produce management accounts, financial statements, and reports to stakeholders within set deadlines given.Responsibilities:Review and overall responsibility for project company accounting:Revenue recognition and customer invoicingCost management and controlFixed Assets and intangible assets register maintenance (additions, disposals, depreciation calculations, etc.)Loan register maintenance (drawdowns, repayments, interest, etc.)Accounting estimates and accrualsTax journalsMonthly reconciliations - banks, customers, suppliers, loans, assets, taxQuarterly foreign currency revaluationsUpdating transactions and journals on the accounting systemOverview and management of generation and maintenance of data room for project companies.Tax compliance, assist tax advisor in compiling and reviewing monthly compliance returns (VAT, NSSF and WHT).Assist and manage statutory audits.Reporting duties, monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting package, assistance with AFS preparation.Work closely with the rest of the Asset Management Team, assisting in the preparation of documentation and financial analysis for stakeholders, so that:The projects remain in compliance with general project documents, not limited to the Power Purchase Agreement, Distribution Customer Use of System Agreement, Implementation.The projects remain in compliance with the Finance Documents.The projects comply with applicable regulatory requirements.Assist and manage the reporting obligations in respect of the Funder, shareholder, board.The projects remain compliant with the EPC contracts, O&M contracts, project, insurance policies, utility contracts.All interfaces between the aforementioned are correctly and competently managed.Updating monthly cash flow projections in conjunction with the Treasury Manager and submitting cashflow for the Project Company to the relevant internal parties as required.Understanding and interpretation of Financial Models to manage construction budgets during Construction and to maintain/manage covenant requirements during Operations.Assist the overall business of the projects under construction, particularly regarding the various agreements and the relationship with third parties.Implementation of procedures for projects going forward to establish a method for achieving financial close.Implementation of procedures to ensure good corporate governance.Contribute to defining regional development of procedures, methods and documentation.Manage the contract administration and compliance for all of the agreements entered into by the project companies. This includes financial administration, investor reporting and fund management.Minimum Educational Qualifications:Degree in Finance or Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Business Law or similar field.Beneficial for participation in a CPA (Certified Practicing Accountants) or CA (Chartered Accountants) program.Minimum Previous Experience:Minimum 3-5 years' proven work experience in a similar position within a renewable energy environment.Other Skills:Strong analytical skills for problem-solving.Attention to detail.Deadline driven and good time management skills.Demonstrated proficiency in creating and analyzing data sets and independently drawing key conclusions based on the analysis.Knowledge of renewable energy is highly desirable.Ability to work both independently as well as within a team.Advanced Excel knowledge, Caseware, Pastel, Oracle.Languages:English (Read, write & speak).
