Our client is a multi-award winning Energy Infrastructure Development company that deploys fast-track, high quality energy solutions leveraging on technologies such as Solar PV, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), Gas-to-Power, Hydro, Wind, Hydrogen and Hybrid Solutions. Their services include Project Structuring and Development, Energy Infrastructure Development, Development and Risk Equity Financing, Construction and Operations Management Services.About the Role:Our client is seeking a highly skilled Project Finance Lawyer to join their team in Johannesburg. This role offers the opportunity to work on exciting energy projects, with a focus on project finance agreements and financial close procedures under various programmes. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, negotiating and executing project finance agreements, monitoring contractual obligations, maintaining records and implementing contractual procedures and policies.Responsibilities:Initial structuring, development, and financing of projects in respect of loan agreements, project bonds, restructuring and refinancing of projects.Managing all project finance aspects of a transaction from inception through to financial close process.Providing high quality legal advice to ensure effective corporate governance, risk planning and compliance.Engaging and managing external legal counsel.Liaising and leading in negotiations with project stakeholders and their legal advisers.Engaging with financial advisors.Drafting, reviewing, liaising and leading in negotiations with third parties on matters connected with the project financing aspects.Requirements:Admitted Attorney with 10+ years' PQEAdvanced project finance knowledgeStrong commercial experience in the project finance practice groupExperience with typical REIPPPP power purchase agreements; understanding of EPC Contracts, O&M Contracts, and corporate and commercial agreementsKnowledge of latest engineering science and technology relating to the renewable energy sectorAbout the jobContract Type: FULL_TIMEFocus: Commercial LawWorkplace Type: On-siteLocation: JohannesburgSpecialism: Legal, Risk & ComplianceIndustry: LegalSalary: NegotiableJob Reference: 8OMJA4-17F53C6CDate posted: 14 August 2024Consultant: Angela Reilly
