Introduction
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Engineer/Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the planning, execution, and completion of solar and wind energy projects. This role requires a blend of engineering expertise, project management skills, and a passion for renewable energy.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or Electrical).
Five (5) years of experience in project management of solar and/or wind or other renewable energy projects.
Solid understanding of solar PV & wind systems and owner's engineering services.
Proven track record of successfully managing renewable energy projects.
Familiarity with industry design and construction standards, practices, and specifications.
Solid understanding of safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards in the construction industry.
Excellent project management skills, including planning, organizing, and resource allocation.
Evidence of technical competence, self-motivation, flexibility, and a problem-solving approach.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Strong commercial focus with the ability to identify and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Specific training in solar photovoltaic or wind technology will provide an added advantage.
Specific knowledge in Grid Interconnection background and Civil will provide an added advantage.
PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is a plus.
Relevant industry certifications in renewable energy are advantageous.
Proficient in Microsoft 365.
Proficiency in both written and spoken English with excellent communication and listening skills.
Experience of working internationally and/or in a multi-cultural environment.
Job Specification Duties and Responsibilities
Project Planning & Design: Lead the design and engineering phases of solar and wind projects. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies.
Project Management: Oversee all phases of project execution from inception to completion. Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and stakeholders. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project progress and make necessary adjustments to ensure project success.
