Brief Role DescriptionTo analyse, reconcile and administer the value of all imported production materials.
Investigate, analyze, formulate and implement new plant manufacturing systems and processes in order to facilitate new Models and Model Year Changes throughout the model range.
Continuously carry out evaluations and assessments to improve existing manufacturing systems and production processes.
Analyze, implement and direct any process changes due to Engineering Change Request (ECR's) from other departments.
To provide Production with the technical support to resolve production problems which will prevent the achievement of quality targets and scheduled production volumes.Possible Tasks within this RoleFormulating and compiling detailed product specifications in order to ensure proper implementation of facilities, machines, equipment, tools and services.Creating facility layouts in Micro Station (HLS), comparing product data, viewing facility designs in Catia V5 and creating process plans as well as costing in Tecnomatix Process Designer & Process Simulate.Managing the approval of funds for purchasing the required facilities, machines, equipment, tools or services by compiling, issuing and monitoring the Finance process.Compiling detailed investment plans and directing funds for the purchasing of required facilities, machines, equipment, tools, services and installations.Control and direct Buy-Off of new facilities by supervising try-outs, commissioning and measuring (dimensional) of these new facilities in order to ensure production process is ergonomic and capable of producing the required quality and consistency to the companies Standard.Conducting trials during VFF, PVS and O-Series and implementing corrective actions in order to ensure production readiness for start of production and series build.Organizing training of Production and Maintenance personnel during VFF, PVS, O-Series build and series production on the correct use of the equipment and facilities.Coordinating, monitoring and providing advice during design reviews and ensure that all respective parties' inputs are taken into consideration.Formulating, supervising and controlling Project Timing plans with the aid of MS Project and other project management skills.Qualification requirementsNational Diploma in Mechanical or Mechatronics EngineeringExperience neededMinimum 3-5 years relevant Project Planning experience within the Automotive Industry (Assembly environment preferred)EssentialsIn-depth knowledge of production processes, layouts and facilitiesKnowledge of jigs, fixtures, gauges, press tools and vehicle build processesExcellent insight in total Engineering, planning, manufacturing systems and pre-calculated costing practicesKnowledge of Vehicle Assembly and Complete Vehicle build processesHave strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)Must have good analytical skills with an innovative approach to problem-solvingMust be assertive and have facilitation skillsMust have ability to negotiate and communicate at all levelsBe extremely motivated, flexible and able to perform in stressful environmentsMust have working knowledge of Technical German LanguageShould you wish to apply please email your CV through to Marlene Williams at ****** shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
