Project Engineer

Our client, a power solutions company with offices in Johannesburg (West Rand and Rose Bank), is looking for a Project Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on Battery storage and Microgrid systems with a special emphasis on off-grid solutions for the remote luxury safari industry. We are seeking a Project Engineer who will join our client's Camps Business unit.
As a Project Engineer, you will drive the project engineering, reporting to the Engineering Manager and collaborating with the Project Manager.
Your Responsibilities:

Execution of Battery storage (BESS) and Microgrid projects, leading all technical activities and coordinating the project team.
Proactively seek and implement improvements in the execution process.
Embody the values of safety and integrity.
Act as a team player within the organization.
Support the bid & proposal team, including costings.

Requirements:

Degree/diploma in Electrical Engineering.
At least 3 years of professional experience.
Fluency in both spoken & written English is required.
Good knowledge of power systems, LV, MV electrical equipment, switchgears, and generation equipment is required.
Knowledge of Microgrid systems, battery storage, and renewable generation is considered a plus.
Good knowledge of MS Office tools is required.
Flexibility to travel (occasionally) is required.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Johannesburg. Salary offered: R40,000 - R60,000 depending on experience.
