Project EngineerReference: NES018180-Phind-1Are you ready to make a significant impact in the Production Department? We're seeking a dynamic Project Engineer to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our department, you'll report directly to the Projects Manager and play a pivotal role in managing engineering projects while supporting plant maintenance and optimization efforts.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPosition Summary: As our Project Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of managing engineering projects, driving equipment improvements, and providing essential engineering support to our multi-disciplined Operations team.Position Activities:Collaborate with the Project Manager during the design phase, defining scopes, process designs, equipment selections, layouts, and materials of construction.Define project objectives, designs, equipment selections, and materials of construction for assigned projects.Ensure accurate documentation and drawings for all projects and modifications.Assess and mitigate risks associated with various job activities, particularly those involving high-risk areas.Interface projects and modifications with production, ensuring seamless handover of all documentation.Assist in managing change and construction issues, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.Lead project commissioning and ensure comprehensive project documentation.Identify recurring equipment problems and propose and implement modifications.Ensure contractors adhere to legal requirements, Health & Safety standards, and company engineering protocols.Position Requirements:Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) with a Government Certificate of Competency (GCC).8-10 years of FMCG project engineering experience across all engineering disciplines.Expert knowledge of major plant equipment and understanding of relevant legislation.Behavioral Characteristics & Skills:A collaborative team player with a continuous learning mindset.Driven by a need for achievement and adept at creative problem-solving.Demonstrates adaptability, critical thinking, and attention to detail.Strong leadership skills with effective communication abilities.Apply now!
