Project Engineer

Minimum requirements: Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering/B.Tech/S4Preferably ten years post-graduate work experienceMinimum five years experience in a project environment.Post-graduate qualification in project management would be an advantageKnowledge and application of various types of engineering contracts, e.g. FIDIC, NEC and CIDBComputer literacy (MS Project and MS Office)Knowledge and application of OHSAResponsibilities:Preparation of mechanical engineering designs, scope of work & specifications, primarily in the field of projects involving pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals & manufacturing as well as water & wastewaterCo-ordinating the efforts of other project staff (various disciplines) to meet project schedules and deliverablesPreparation, monitoring and contol of project scheduleDevelopment, monitoring and control of project cost schedule (capital and man hour costs)Direct liaison with clients on project mattersCo-ordination and recording of internal and client project meetingsCo-ordinating draughting effortPreparation of detailed purchase specifications and equipment data sheetsPreparing bills of quantitiesIssuing and evaluating tendersAssist in preparation of contracts both with clients and suppliersPreparation and issuing of purchase orders and expediting delivery of goodsLiaising with suppliers during the procurement cycle on all technical issuesCritiquing supplier designs and incorporating these into overall designManaging contractors during constructionConsultant: Shervon Kamoo - Dante Personnel Pretoria Faerie Glen
