An experienced PROJECT ENGINEER is required for permanent employment based in Richards Bay. Responsibilities include installation and commissioning of company equipment at customer sites, being an ambassador for the company, and providing technical assistance to clients. This position also includes regular travel to Mozambique.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Define all the project execution scopes, work breakdown structures, schedules, objectives, and method statements involving relevant stakeholders. Maintain monthly overview of services budget, monitor variations, and ensure cost control on projects with timely invoicing. Ensure all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget. Define and coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless execution of projects. Contribute towards contractor vendor selection and approval. Oversee multi-disciplinary project teams responsible for equipment installation and commissioning according to company standards. Measure and report on project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Perform internal risk management to minimize project risks. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation. Train operators/supervisors to use and maintain company equipment. Manage relationships with clients concerning invoicing, deadlines, and milestones. Provide feedback from clients to improve customer service. Coordinate ad-hoc internal projects as required. Problem Solving: Implement a mitigation plan to reduce risks during all project phases. Engage in proactive hands-on problem solving on job sites and escalate to senior management as necessary. Develop strong customer relationships and ensure client satisfaction in planning, quality, and deadlines.
Ensure a high level of safety on site.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: Engineering qualification (diploma or degree) or trade tested artisan with minimum N4. Project Management Diploma as a minimum (non-negotiable). 7-10 years multi-disciplinary project experience. Minimum of 3 years site execution supervision experience. Proven working experience in project management and organizational skills. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Projects. Marketing skills for identifying potential new projects and business opportunities. Financial comprehension pertaining to budgets and job costing. Excellent client-facing and internal verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills involving goal-setting, professional development, and mentorship. Conflict management skills. Strong project planning, organizational, and time management skills.
