PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Drive the execution of project with high criticality (or A*), according to contractual requirements and customer expectations (summarized in contract charter), to maximize the results with respect to cash and margin whilst delivering on time, in conformity with Alstom project management and execution processes.Be accountable for project Quality Cost Delivery Planning (QCDP) and project Environment Health & Safety (EHS).Ensure Alstom legal and contractual rights are protected.Seek and propose to the Customer Director / Platform additional opportunities.NETWORK & LINKS INTERNAL Project TeamProject OfficeTender and Project OfficeSupport functions (Finance, Tax, Legal, etc.) and other project stakeholdersEXTERNAL CustomerSupplierPartners (if any)MAIN OFFICE LOCATION Located Nigel & FourwaysTASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES: Be accountable for project QCDP performance and optimize project financial performance (margin & cash).As owner of the Project Management Work Package (WP), the Project Director is QCDP accountable for all the activities of his/her WP.Be responsible for the project governance, define project strategy in line with contract requirements, including PMP elaboration and objectives allocation to sub-systems (Planning, Cost, Quality, Performance).Lead and coordinate project activities and stakeholders from transfer to close-out, including proper transfer from tender to project.Define project objectives and main drivers (product/service performance, planning) to achieve customer satisfaction in the frame of the Contract.Manage resources: define in advance project core team staffing, as well as his/her WP resources.Escalate when project resources available do not match the project needs.Team leading, including Core Team and when applicable Project Managers of internal and external partners.Ensure that key project stakeholders are aligned towards project goals.Engage project teams in the successful achievement of project objectives and strengthen relationships among them.Synchronize internal partners and arbitrate when necessary.Align with contractual requirements and manage variation orders. Arbitration of Q, C, D, P re-baselining and change management at project level. Manage claims and litigations if needed.Proactive risk, saving and opportunity management.Manage the project progress and its KPIs, and report to senior management, with transparency during business/critical project reviews.Ensure compliance with applicable rules, instructions and standards: Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality, Project Management Manual.Continuously ensure alignment with customer contractual requirements.Ensure contract management and variation orders towards customer.PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS: Project Performance Indicator (PPI)Cash Performance Indicator (CPI)Gate review Go on time / OTD- GRCustomer SatisfactionEHS when applicableEXPERIENCE; BEHAVIOURAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS MANDATORY: Engineering Degree, Master in Project ManagementDESIRABLE: IPMA level A/B (or equivalent)5 - 10 years Project managementOperations managementEXPERIENCE MANDATORY: 10 years experience as project manager in railway industry of which at least 5 years experience of low/medium critical projects.Experience of working in and with multi-national companies and in different business cultures.10 years of locomotive experience (Repair/Test).DESIRABLE: Knowledgeable of ALSTOM way of working for efficient process execution.Technical hands-on and practical.COMPETENCIES & SKILLS: Very good interpersonal as rigorous team-player.Focused on Quality and Planning targets.Decision-making and problem-solving ability.Resilience, with an analytic way of thinking in order to solve Field complex deviations and issues.Innovative attitude aiming to improve continuously the way of working and performance.BEHAVIORAL AND TECHNICAL SKILLS / COMPETENCIES: Strong interpersonal skills (leadership, communication, ability to convince).Adapting to ALSTOM culture; AGILE; INCLUSIVE & RESPONSIBLE.You don't need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us.
