SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.

SACAP is looking for a Project Coordinator: New Programme Accreditation, for 12 months, based nationally at either of SACAP's Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg or Pretoria campus.
The position is designed to provide methodical process and project management and administrative support in the research, design, development, revision and administration of new programme applications and other academic programme research projects.
The Project Coordinator: New Programme Accreditation holds an institutional function in assisting and advising the Academic Department in the Initiation, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling and Closing of Programme Feasibility and New Programme Application Projects across Faculties. The Project Coordinator: New Programme Accreditation works in close partnership with the Academic Dean, the Deputy Dean: Institutional Planning and Regulatory Compliance, the Academic Manager, the Heads of Faculty, the Senior Project Coordinator: New Programme Accreditation, the Heads of Teaching and Learning, and collaboratively with other institutional departments, in fulfilment of duties and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
The Project Coordinator: New Programme Accreditation will be responsible for the following areas:
Academic Department: Programme Feasibility/Exploratory Research: Conducts research on the feasibility and viability of key projects being managed by the Academic Department Administers and implements research projects from the early planning stages to project completion Communicates with key stakeholders to verify that all projects and tasks are on schedule and are completed within the set timeframes Generates reports that highlight:
o Background to the particular project
o Methodologies used in research
o Key findings
o Discussion points Prepares and presents Senate Proposal documents that demonstrate the feasibility of new programmes Recommendations and future opportunities Forms a good working relationship with various key stakeholders throughout the organisation
New Programme Applications: Research, Development, Collation and Submission: Administration and coordination of new programme application projects including the initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closing of new programme application projects across faculties Implements and executes processes to compile all elements of each criterion of an application Conducts research on specific elements of a new application where requested Collects and collates up-to-date documents timeously and with precision as supporting evidence in an application Ensures that all elements of a programme application bear in mind the rules of the HEQSF to ensure the highest standards of academic integrity are maintained in new applications Write up of the various criteria in applications, as requested Collects and submits the most up to date documents timeously and with precision as supporting evidence in an application Initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling and closing of new programme application projects across faculties:
o Creating a comprehensive project plan for New Programme Applications across faculties o Documenting and tracking all project activities for completion and quality
o Creating and monitoring the project schedule, prioritising and sequencing time frames associated with changing elements of new programme application projects
o Provides guidance and advice to the Heads of Faculty on regulatory requirements regarding curricula in the design and development phase of new programme application modules
o Oversight of new programme design, development, and application processes until qualifications are accredited (CHE) and registered (SAQA and DHET) Enhancing efficiency of research processes:
o Establishes efficient processes that help turn around programme applications more quickly to meet strategy demands;
o Establishes processes for storing the information and data generated during research projects and programme applications o Establishes auditing and monitoring processes that provide an evidence base of robust quality assurance and governance of research projects and application development
Administering the CHE/HEQF programme application:
o Stays abreast of all aspects of the regulatory submission process including new forms that may be provided, new templates and/or new formats
o Prepares all folders for new programme applications
o Gathers and collates the information in preparation for upload
o Editing and proofing documents where requested for the HoFs, programme designers and module developers
o Identifies where the gaps in information are and highlights these
o Drafts and administrates rebuttals and/or re-accreditation processes where necessary
o Prepares formal letters that may need to be sent in response to outcomes and processes
o Draft and collate application for amendment of registration to be completed to ensure that the DHET's registration certificate reflects the new qualification
o Provides guidance and assists in preparing programme designs and modules for programme applications based on subject expertise General: Contributes to the termly Academic Quality Assurance report SACAP Meeting Attendance:
o Presentation of Results
o Monthly Staff Meeting
o Senate where required
Qualifications and Experience: Minimum of an Honour's degree with a background in Psychology, Education or Social Sciences. A Master's degree would be preferable. Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in Higher Education with a depth, breadth and range of experience in Regulatory Management, Quality Assurance, Programme Application Development and Submission, Teaching, Research, Learning Design and Curriculum Development Minimum of 5 years' administrative experience, with at least 2 of these years being in Higher Education. Skills: Understanding of the higher education landscape. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Good time management. Methodical and systematic. Process Management skills. Excellent at administration and organisation of information. Well versed on Higher Education policies and development. Research and development skills. Expertise in learning design and curriculum development. Project Planning and coordination. Technologically strong and willing to engage new technologies where necessary. Personal Attributes: Detail and results orientated. High energy and self-motivation. Thoughtful and determined, diligent and patient. Organised and deadline driven. Action-oriented. Interpersonal skills. Adaptable and flexible. Person-centered and team player. Future orientated.
The role will report directly to the Senior Project Coordinator: New Programme Accreditation.

Operating Hours: This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays*:

Monday to Thursday: 08:30am to 17:00pm

Friday: 08:30am to 16:00pm


Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of the position.
