Job Description: Project Controls Manager Job Type: Contract, Full-Time hours Job Duties: Develop and implement project control processes and procedures Monitor project progress and performance to ensure adherence to schedule and budget Prepare and maintain project schedules, cost estimates, and resource plans Identify potential risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies Collaborate with project team members to track and report on project deliverables Provide regular project status updates to senior management Required Qualifications: Bachelors degree in engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Professional certification in project management, such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional). Certification in project controls, such as CCP (Certified Cost Professional) or PSP (Project Scheduling Professional). Masters degree or postgraduate qualification in Project Management or related field (preferred). Required Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project controls, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management. Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects in industries such as construction, engineering, oil & gas, or infrastructure. At least 3-5 years of experience in leading a project controls team, with direct responsibility for developing and managing schedules, budgets, and project control processes. Strong familiarity with project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, PRINCE2). Experience working with project management and controls software, such as Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta Powerproject. Software Experience: Primavera P6, MS Project, or Asta Powerproject Full suite MS Office ERP systems such as SAP Skills: Expertise in project scheduling and cost control techniques. Proficiency in project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and financial management tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret project data and provide insights. Exceptional organizational and time management skills to ensure milestones and deliverables are met on time. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Leadership abilities to manage and motivate a team of project control specialists. Core Function: Schedule Performance Index (SPI): Maintaining a project SPI of 1 or above to ensure projects are on schedule. Cost Performance Index (CPI): Achieving a CPI of 1 or above to ensure projects are completed within budget. Earned Value Accuracy: Ensuring that earned value reports accurately reflect project status, with variances below 5%. Forecast Accuracy: Providing accurate project forecasts with variance from actuals of less than 5%. Change Request Management: Monitoring and controlling project scope changes, with less than 10% of changes leading to significant cost or schedule overruns. Stakeholder Satisfaction: Achieving a stakeholder satisfaction rate of 90% or above through regular communication and transparent reporting. Behavioural: Attention to Detail: Must have a strong focus on accuracy, ensuring all project data and reports are reliable and precise.
