Our client, an International Mining Company, is seeking an experienced Project Construction Manager to join their dynamic team in Northern Cape on a Fixed-Term contract.
In this pivotal role, you will lead and manage all construction activities, ensuring effective planning, scheduling, and execution of projects.
Key Responsibilities: Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
Oversee the daily operations on site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and plans.
Manage and supervise construction personnel, subcontractors, and vendors, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with safety standards and contractual obligations.
Allocate resources efficiently, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
Conduct inspections and tests to verify that materials and workmanship comply with project requirements.
Address and rectify any quality issues or deficiencies promptly and effectively.
Oversee construction budgets and control costs, including managing expenditures and tracking financial performance.
Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules, ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are met.
Maintain reports and up-to-date construction documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
Qualifications and Experience : National Diploma / Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CCM) are advantageous.
At least 8 years of experience within mining, specifically mineral processing industry.
