Alstom Rolling Stock South Africa (Pty) Ltd is looking for a Project Assistant/Co-ordinator for our Traxx Africa project based in Durban.
THE PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT ASSISTANT / CO-ORDINATOR ROLE IS TO:
Provide confidential, effective and professional service to the Manager and his/her team. To assist the Manager to guarantee time efficiency, communication and organization. Provide support on any specific subjects linked to the activities of the department.
THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITY WILL BE: Managing administrative activities for the project.Liaising with project team on a regular basis to obtain various information for the PM.Compiling reports for Project reviews.Coordination of meetings and Customer engagements.Prepare agendas for the meetings, write minutes in compliance with contractual expectations.Customer liaison – build up relationships with the customers at all levels and become a reliable point of contact.Manage the office/building maintenance.Manage orders and recons.Provide commercial support to the Project & sub-contractor.Perform Project Ody.C updates.Support the team with Risk and Opportunity management.Consolidation of Work Package reviews.Lead mini-Projects.General Office duties.The preferred candidate will meet the following requirements: Diploma in business management.IT skills – competent with use of Microsoft Word, Excel packages. Good command of software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).GSI – SAP, Ody.C.Project Management Diploma (advantageous).Attention to detail.Minimum of 5 years' Project Co-ordination experience in a manufacturing environment.Experience supporting project teams with various project related tasks and activities.Working experience doing project related reporting and compiling of project related presentation.Cross functional working experience.Good knowledge of Project administration.General Office management experience.Exposure to procurement processes.The ideal candidate will have the following competencies: Fluent in English.Highly organized.Ability to manage multiple responsibilities.Trustworthy / Confidential / Discretion.Sense of urgency.Autonomy, good sense of initiative and ability to anticipate and solve issues.Quality rather than quantity service.Reactivity.Good relationship and communication skills.Team spirit and customer focused.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those under consideration will be contacted.
