Key Responsibilities:
• On-site Leadership: Supervise and manage the day-to-day activities of the construction team, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Team Coordination: Lead a team of tradesmen and subcontractors, providing clear instructions, support, and motivation to ensure work is completed on schedule and within budget.
• Quality Control: Ensure all construction work complies with project specifications, health & safety regulations, and quality standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve any issues before they become problems.
• Site Safety: Enforce strict safety protocols on-site to ensure a safe working environment for all team members, subcontractors, and visitors. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections.
• Project Scheduling: Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly work plans with the Project Manager, ensuring that tasks are scheduled, resources are available, and the project timeline is met.
• Material & Equipment Management: Ensure materials and equipment are available on-site, properly stored, and used efficiently. Oversee the safe handling of materials and tools to minimize wastage and downtime.
• Problem Solving: Identify and resolve any issues that arise on-site, from technical challenges to workforce concerns, ensuring minimal disruption to the project schedule.
• Client & Stakeholder Liaison: Communicate regularly with the Project Manager, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates on progress and address any concerns or changes.
• Documentation & Reporting: Keep accurate records of daily site activities, work completed, and any delays or issues. Report regularly to the Project Manager on progress, materials usage, and workforce performance.
What We're Looking For:
• Experience: 5-10 years of hands-on experience as a Foreman in the construction industry, with a proven track record of managing residential and/or commercial building projects.
• Leadership Skills: Strong leadership qualities with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of workers and subcontractors.
• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building materials, techniques, and quality standards.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to anticipate challenges, solve problems efficiently, and adapt to changing circumstances on-site.
• Safety Focused: A strong understanding of construction site safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment for all team members.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and project managers.
• Organizational Skills: Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks, ensuring that deadlines are met and the project progresses smoothly.
• Flexibility: Ability to work under pressure, manage stressful situations, and adjust to project changes quickly.
