Project Accountant, Contract, Gauteng

We are seeking a Project Accountant for a contract role, based in Rivonia, Gauteng. Applicants are required to meet the following criteria: National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Admin or BookkeepingMust have professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA / SAICA5+ years working experience in a computerized accounting environment3+ years working experience in an NGO in a similar role will be advantageousExtensive knowledge of Sage EvolutionThe successful applicant would be responsible for, but not limited to: Review cashbook and conduct balance sheet reconsCreditors recons and checking of GL accountsReconcile balance sheet and assist FM with audit preparationsAccounts receivable – produce invoices and check charge out; checking of timesheetsPayment verification – ensure allocations are correct; ensure correct supporting documentation; ensure payments are made for correct project bank accountFinancial forecasting – weekly cash forecasts; verify and evaluate cash projectionsCompliance and reporting – monthly/quarterly finance reports; ensure reports are correct and well presented; assists FM with year-end financial report preparationTraining / filing – training staff; ensure proper filing/archiving; train teams on donor financial management rulesMaintain project related records and authorize the transfer of expensesInvestigate all project expenses, project variances and submit variance reports to managementSalary: Negotiable (for the contract duration)
