Shutdown Progress Monitor - Welding and Mechanical Project Job Description:Overview:We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Shutdown Progress Monitor for welding and mechanical processes at a petrochemical plant in the oil and gas industry. The primary responsibility of this role is to oversee and monitor the progress of welding and mechanical work during the shutdown period, ensuring that all activities are executed efficiently and in adherence to project schedules and quality standards.Responsibilities:Progress Monitoring:Utilize monitoring tools and systems to track the progress of welding and mechanical activities throughout the shutdown project. Conduct regular inspections and assessments to evaluate the status of work, identifying any deviations from planned schedules or quality requirements. Prepare progress reports and provide updates to project stakeholders, highlighting achievements, challenges, and areas needing attention.Planning and Coordination:Assist in the development of comprehensive plans for welding and mechanical processes during the shutdown, collaborating with project managers and engineering teams. Coordinate with onsite personnel to ensure effective resource allocation and timely completion of tasks. Communicate closely with stakeholders to address any issues or delays that may impact progress, implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks and minimize disruptions.Material Control:Assist in the management and control of materials required for welding and mechanical operations, including inventory management, procurement, and distribution. Collaborate with material control teams to ensure adequate supplies are available onsite, and materials are handled and stored properly to prevent damage or loss.Qualifications:Grade 12 Technical qualification: BTech or Material control or planner.Previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the oil and gas industry.Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Knowledge of welding and mechanical processes and procedures is preferred.Experience in material control or inventory management is advantageous.This position offers a vital role in a critical shutdown project for a prominent petrochemical plant.
