To direct, oversee and manage the Foundation's Scholarship Programme through strategic engagement with relevant stakeholders to meet the Foundation's Vision.
They should be able to inspire and prepare Scholars to become entrepreneurs as they progress to the Fellowship and then ultimately join the Association.
Objectives of Role Strategic Management Establish the strategy for the Scholarship department in line with overall Programmes and Foundation strategy Ensure ongoing alignment regarding Scholarship programme objectives and outcomes with the Foundation strategic intentions Establish an engagement strategy for Scholarship, balancing the needs of all Scholars Communicate strategy to key stakeholders, both internal and external to the Foundation Provide strategic input regarding the overall leadership and direction of the Foundation and other Programme teams in particular Provide direction, guidance and support to the Scholarship Management and broader teams Programme Management Conduct case-studies to showcase "success stories" Establish parameters then create and maintain Scholarship database Identify opportunities for Foundation to leverage and align cross functional programme strengths Stakeholder Relationship Management Build strong relationships with Scholars, understanding their context and requirements so as best to encourage and support their studies Maintain and foster networks that will add value to the Foundation, locally and internationally Build strong internal relationships particularly with the Fellowship and Association teams Maintain collaborative relationships between the Foundation Exco and Leadership Teams and other internal stakeholders Support strategic partnerships that align with Foundation practices and protocols Establish frameworks and ensure compliance with information protocols across all stakeholders Analysis & Reporting Compile quarterly reviews of Scholarship programme and strategic plans Compile other programme progress reports for the Foundation at agreed intervals Compile reports for the Function Forum and other stakeholders Identify trends, generate insights and support data-driven decision-making that enhances the programme and Foundation strategy and operations Annual Budgets/Financial Management Forecast annual capital & operational expenses in line with programme objectives Demonstrate financial astuteness by analysing budgets, evaluating financial risks and making sound decisions to ensure optimal resource allocation and sustainable growth Confirm the annual budget in collaboration with the Head of Programmes Develop annual operational budget and manage costs against approved budget Compile regular budget report-backs Experience and Qualifications Identification with the Foundation's Vision, Mission and Ethos Honours Degree or equivalent 10 years relevant working experience, with 5 years in a similar environment 5 years leadership experience, preferably in a senior management role Passion for involvement in Foundation mission and experience in entrepreneurial development and/or enterprise development Ability to plan, execute and lead the programme Computer literacy Policy We are committed to Employment Equity when recruiting internally and externally.
