Duties and responsibilities:
Manage the curriculum processes of the Extended Programme in departments.
Develop new learning programmes in consultation with stakeholders.
Ensure frequent and continuous development and management of the operational plan of the Extended Programme.
Provide general leadership in the Extended Programme and ensure academic coherence across all various modules of the programme, including both BFN and SOUTH campus.
Ensure that the activities of the Extended Programme are undertaken in accordance with the governance, policy, and regulatory frameworks of the university.
Assume responsibility for the academic quality of the Extended Programme.
Manage the academic administration of the Extended Programme.
Ensure scholarship of high quality.
Manage matters relating to teaching, learning, and students in the Extended Programmes, including both BFN and SOUTH campus.
Conduct own research.
Provide academic advice in terms of academic inquiries, amendments of yearbooks, schedules, timetables, etc. related to the Extended Programmes on both the BFN and SOUTH campuses.
Serve on the marketing committee of the faculty as necessary.
Assist with marketing pamphlets or any suitable marketing material.
Inherent Job Requirements:
An Honours degree on NQF Level 8.
Work experience as Academic Coordinator or Facilitator for Extended Programmes or lecturing any module/s in the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences.
A permanent staff member of the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at the University of the Free State (UFS).
Recommendations:
A master's degree on NQF Level 9.
