Job Title: Programme Co-ordinator
Responsible To: Head of Programmes and Academic Monitoring (HoPAM)
Responsible For: Leading the College academic staff in programme delivery
Location/Branch: Headquarters Barclay Hall Campus and all campuses
2. Main Purpose of the Job
To co-ordinate and lead the College in the development and implementation of its programme delivery, assessment and quality assurance process.
3. Duties and Responsibilities

To promote and support the curriculum management team to ensure the development, management and quality assurance of a specified area of curriculum provision, ensuring that the area delivers outstanding education provision where quality standards and the needs of students are met and often exceeded. The role will include the line management of teaching and support staff.
To ensure effective liaison with module tutors in matters associated with the planning, management and review of the programme.
To make efficient and effective use of human, financial and material resources and be responsible to HoPAM against the agreed budget.
To liaise effectively with awarding bodies and EE/SV when necessary and ensure arrangements for external examination/verification are in place.
To promote appropriate approaches towards innovation in teaching, learning and methods of assessment within the programme.
To ensure attendance, retention and achievement of recruited students across your programme meet satisfactory levels, monitor this and ensure that your staff are familiar with all targets and action plans.
To ensure the coherence of the programme as experienced by all students in leading to its named award.
To ensure the programme is monitored and evaluated in accordance with agreed quality assurance procedures and work to raise quality standards.
To ensure the implementation of agreed policies and procedures (as determined at programme and academic partnership levels).
To oversee the day-to-day and term management of the programme, including:

Management of submission dates and class cancellation
Attendance queries and management (SMS)
Moodle management and review
Assessment brief allocation/preparation and IV arrangements
Assessment IV arrangement
Results analysis
Organising training events for academic team

To coordinate staff resource for the programme ensuring that staff are adequately briefed and involved.
To lead staff development activities.
Acting and reporting on identified quality improvement needs at programme level as appropriate, including curriculum modification.
In liaison with the HoPAM ensure that all students within the programme are provided with appropriate support.
To be responsible for ensuring that all students on the programme have access to a personal tutor.
To ensure appropriate and timely feedback to students on assessments, particularly in relation to progress within and between levels of study, and failure in modules.
To liaise with the HoPAM in regard to any proposed changes and development to the programme, in accordance with institutional or national developments.
To write Annual Programme Monitoring Report (APMR), review and respond to EE reports.
To analyse student feedback and report in a timely fashion.
To manage peer review process and analysis (and reporting) in a timely fashion, alongside active involvement in classroom observation and staff appraisal and probationary assessments.
To organise and manage Programme Committee meetings.
To review prospectuses, programme handbooks, unit handbooks and IV of handbooks.
To represent the programme in dealings with external agencies.
Carry out such duties as may be required from time to time by the College that are appropriate to the grade of the post and facilitate the delivery of key business objectives.
Maintain equal opportunities, safeguarding and health and safety policies and procedures and any legislation to which the College is bound by law.
Actively develop yourself through staff development and training activities including internal and external meetings/trainings/workshops.

4. Person Specification

A good post graduate qualification, or equivalent, in a relevant subject with an appropriate subject specialism (essential).
Relevant work experience within the field (essential).
Experience of teaching and programme management (essential).
Running a RQF Pearson's HND (desirable).
Meet the teaching needs at course and degree level (desirable).
Evidence of CPD (essential).
A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to enrol on PGCHE) (desirable).
Fellowship (or Senior/Principal Fellowship) of the Higher Education Academy (desirable).
Understanding of teaching and learning methodologies, ICT and associated technologies and how it improves teaching and learning (essential).
Evidence of contributing to the planning and delivery of innovative curriculum plans and programmes (desirable).
Ability to work as a team member to enhance the quality of taught provision, increase levels of student satisfaction, improve levels of student retention, progression and employability, and support student enterprise activities (essential).
Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills, including oral; written/literacy; numeracy and presentation, underpinned by the ability to use IT to support students and discharge administrative responsibilities (e.g., MS Office and Outlook).
Evidence of the use of VLEs in teaching (e.g., Whiteboard/Moodle) (essential).
Personal commitment to equality and diversity and demonstrate the ability to lead, manage and motivate professional teams (i.e., academics and technicians) to achieve business and personal objectives.
Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills and demonstrate ability to use own initiative to solve practical problems without supervision.
Able to organise and plan work to achieve performance targets (KPIs) and deliver to strict deadlines by utilising business processes and resources.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £33,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
