Minimum Requirements for Professor: A relevant Doctoral DegreeAt least 9 years experience in higher educationExtensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Computer ScienceA track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of ProfessorPostgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of ProfessorEvidence of successful national and international fundraising for research.Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures).
