Duties & Responsibilities - Provide academic leadership in research; curriculum design, development, and implementation. - Teach undergraduate and postgraduate modules. - Meet research publication requirements for the academic rank of Professor. - Secure external research grants and establish research programmes. - Supervise all levels of postgraduate students and host post-doctoral fellows. - Establish institutional, national and international collaborations. - Provide academic leadership and contribute to mentorship of academic staff. - Participate in community engagement integrated with teaching and/or research. - Contribute to University service and participate in administrative duties at Departmental, Faculty and University levels. Desired Experience & Qualification - A relevant Doctoral degree - Registration with a relevant professional accounting body - At least 9 years' experience in higher education - Extensive undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research experience in Accounting - A track record of international and national accredited research publications commensurate with the academic rank of Professor - Postgraduate supervision experience including successful Doctoral supervision commensurate with the academic rank of Professor - Evidence of successful national and international fundraising for research - Recognition as an established scholar in a chosen area of research (e.g., NRF rating, international keynote addresses/ plenary lectures) Added Advantages - Qualification/ courses in higher education teaching and learning/ Recognition for teaching - Evidence of professional and academic standing at national and international levels - Evidence of academic leadership and mentorship of early career academics - Evidence of successfully hosting post-doctoral research fellows - Evidence of national and international collaboration - Evidence of community engagement integrated with teaching, learning or research Desired Skills - Qualification/ courses in higher education teaching and learning/ Recognition for teaching Desired Work Experience - 5 to 10 years Desired Qualification Level & Accreditations - Doctorate - Association of Chartered Certified Accountants - Chartered Institute of Management Accountants - South African Institute of Chartered Accountant - South African Institute of Professional Accountant
