Professional Officer: Township Development Support Officer Admin and Office Management ~ Technical / Construction ~ Project ManagementCape Town - Western CapeProfessional Officer: Township Development Support Officer - Cape Town (Contract)We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Project Manager to play a pivotal role in a groundbreaking pilot project for Township Development - Development Charges Fund.In this role, you'll provide comprehensive support for the entire lifecycle of the Township Development - Development Charges Fund (pilot fund). This encompasses its implementation, administration, and reporting. You'll also manage the project management and administration of the Development Action Group (DAG) agreement. Your strong administrative skills, coupled with your project management expertise, will be critical to the success of this initiative.The Core Competencies Required For This Role Are:Extensive experience in supporting businesses in townships or proper understanding thereof.Construction project management or proper understanding thereof. Particularly working with micro-developers would be an advantage.Limited fund management experience or proper understanding thereof.Experience in report writing and administration. Having worked in government will be an advantage.Key Skills & Experience that must reflect on your CV:A minimum of 2 years' experience in a relevant administrative role is required.A proven track record in project management and administrative tasks is essential. This experience should demonstrate your ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively, prioritize deadlines, and manage projects from inception to completion.Excellent financial management and record-keeping skills are crucial. You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate financial records are maintained for the pilot fund, adhering to strict financial regulations.Strong interpersonal, communication, listening, and presentation skills are necessary to foster positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including government officials, community members, and project partners.The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team is essential. You'll be expected to take initiative and manage your workload effectively, while also collaborating with colleagues to achieve project goals.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills are required to navigate challenges and identify solutions that ensure the smooth running of the project.Technological and computer proficiency to manage various software programs is necessary.Strong report writing skills are essential to clearly communicate project progress, outcomes, and recommendations to stakeholders.Desired Skills:A Bachelor's Degree (BTech) or equivalent qualification is required.While not mandatory, a background in construction or building would be highly beneficial. This background knowledge would allow you to grasp the nuances of the project and contribute more effectively.Responsibilities:Project Management of the Township Development - Development Charges Fund (pilot fund), including planning, execution, monitoring, and evaluation.Administration of the pilot fund, including financial management, record-keeping, and ensuring compliance with CoCT policies and procedures.Reporting on the pilot fund progress and outcomes, creating clear and concise reports for stakeholders.Project management and administration of the Development Action Group (DAG) agreement.Important Notes:The Township Development Support Officer may be required to work overtime as it is a new project and it is difficult to determine the project demands at this stage. The overtime will be presentations or meetings held with relevant stakeholders after hours. This will be kept to a minimum, as necessary.Due to the short-term nature of this contract (this role is not suitable for those seeking long-term employment). We require a highly motivated and independent individual with a strong administrative background and a passion for contributing to meaningful projects.
