MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASDeliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team.Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing.
DESIRED EDUCATION: Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing Science.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year post-graduate qualification experience in an operating theatre.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 3 years' post-graduate qualification experience in an operating theatre.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEInfection prevention and control.Pharmacology.Scientific nursing principles and process.Nursing processes and procedures.Develop/ modify a nursing care plan.Basic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards).
