MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBWe are opening a new Hybrid Theatre at Mediclinic Constantiaberg in the new year 2025 and have a great opportunity for a Professional Nurse Scrub to join our specialised theatre team. You will deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.
REQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing
DESIRED EDUCATION: Midwifery; Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in operating theatre technique.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None
DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year post-graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASDeliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team.Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEInfection prevention and controlPharmacologyScientific nursing principles and processNursing processes and proceduresDevelop/modify a nursing care planBasic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards)All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
