MAIN PURPOSE OF JOBTo deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREASDeliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional teamIdentify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safetyFacilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environmentProvide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventionsCreate a learning environment that builds staff competenceEnsure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately chargedREQUIRED EDUCATIONESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General NursingDESIRED EDUCATION: Midwifery; Post graduate certificate/ diploma in relevant specialty areaREQUIRED EXPERIENCEESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: NoneDESIRED EXPERIENCE: 1 year post graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unitREQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGEBasic life support trained (ACLS; ATLS; PALS training for specialised wards)Develop/ modify a nursing care planInfection prevention and controlNursing processes and proceduresPharmacologyScientific nursing principles and processAll applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
