To assist us in fulfilling our mission, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Professional Engineer with expertise in Land Development to join our team.Job Summary:A Professional Engineer will play a crucial role in our design and engineering department and growth of our team, supporting our growing book of work for our existing and future clients, primarily on Commercial and Residential Land Development Projects.
This position requires a minimum of ten (10) years of experience, and the ability to obtain a Professional Engineers license (PE) in the state of Florida within 6 months, as well as a strong commitment to teamwork, accuracy and quality.
A candidate must possess the ability to work independently as the position is a remote position, exhibiting self-motivation and proactive work ethic, with the ability to work independently, setting priorities, and maintain productivity in a remote work environment.Key Responsibilities:Utilize Bentley design packages and ICPR to prepare precise and detailed civil engineering calculations to support designers.Develop schematic plans and layouts for a variety of projects according to project specifications and guidelines.Assist in creating, revising and updating existing drawings, and recommending changes to Civil Designers to complete Construction Level Drawings.Sign and seal plans and calculations performed by them or directly under their supervision.Organize and maintain files, ensuring they are easily accessible to team members.Lead project preparation from the receipt of a request from a client, including proposal writing with minimal direction.Set up and manage report templates for required documents for agency submittal.Oversee a team of designers and engineering interns, providing feedback and guidance to ensure high-quality design and permitting.Work closely with other engineers, architects, planners, and Civil Designers to understand project requirements and contribute to design solutions.Collaborate with clients, contractors and other team members to deliver successful project outcomes.Site Assessment:Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary data for the design process.Perform field measurements and gather relevant information.Drafting Documentation:Assist in preparing and maintaining project documentation, permit lists, applications, and records.Quality Assurance:Review and verify the accuracy of drawings and calculations, ensuring that they meet industry standards and internal quality assurance procedures.Software Proficiency:Stay up to date with the latest software updates and industry best practices.Participate in training opportunities and seek to improve skills.Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to the development of best practices within the engineering department.Remote Work:Exhibit a self-motivated and proactive work ethic, with the ability to work independently, set priorities, and maintain productivity in a remote environment.Office Support:Provide general support to the design and engineering department as needed, including printing, and distributing drawings, and organizing project materials.Marketing:Provide general support to Marketing Wicks Consulting Group as our team continues to grow.Qualifications and Requirements:Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering or related field.Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Land Development Engineering field.Advanced knowledge of necessary computer software required for the industry, specifically WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, and ICPR (or the ability to learn within the first 6 months).Strong attention to detail.Commitment to producing accurate and high-quality work efficiently.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and procedures.Demonstrates a strong ability to adapt to guidance and thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment under the supervision of senior professionals.Master's Degree in related field preferred but not required.Wicks Consulting Group is an equal opportunity employer.
