Minimum requirements for the role:Must have a diploma or certificate focused on Biotechnology or related scientific fieldB.Sc. or Technical Science degree in Industrial Microbiology is advantageousMinimum 1 year work experience in a commercial setting in a similar roleSound working knowledge of microbial culturing and upkeep of cultures is essentialMust have a sound knowledge of good laboratory practicesKnowledge of SHEQ Management Systems requirements is advantageousMust be in possession of a valid drivers license, have own reliable transport and must be medically fit to driveSound knowledge of laboratory administration, laboratory procurement and laboratory servicing needsThe successful candidate will be responsible for:Meeting production targets timeously.Participating in the planning and scheduling of Trichoderma production activities in cooperation with the Technical Department.Ensuring low levels of production losses, both normal and abnormal, and conducting troubleshooting to determine root causes.Observing, monitoring, and communicating production bottlenecks to the Trichoderma Leading Hand.Ensuring all equipment utilized is kept to a high level of order and efficiency.Ensuring the isolation, maintenance, and purification of mother cultures for production, quality control, and intellectual property purposes.Assisting with the continuous evaluation and improvement of the protocol under the guidance of the Microbial Team Leader.Assisting the Microbial Team Leader with the management of the production and stock levels based on set sales targets as and when required.Ensuring the isolation, maintenance, and purification of mother cultures for production, quality control, and intellectual property purposes.Assisting the Microbial Team Leader with the drafting, implementation, and management of the cleaning and production schedules.Assisting with the preparation and execution of the monthly stock takes for the Trichoderma production facility and QC Lab.Adhering to and maintaining the hard copy and electronic document filing systems in an orderly and optimal manner.Ensuring effective housekeeping and deep cleaning in accordance with the laboratory cleaning procedures.Maintaining a high level of cleanliness and order in the laboratories, ensuring that satisfactory sterilization has been achieved with the use of thorough cleaning techniques and effective disinfectants.Being prepared to assist team members with the maintenance of the high level of cleanliness and order in the laboratories.Performing other housekeeping tasks for which the incumbent is competent.Please note that subsequent to the screening and shortlisting process, all further communication will be entered into, only with the shortlisted candidates
